As the pandemic presses on, people continue to find themselves with time on their hands, be it from self-isolating or simply due to canceled summer plans. Time seems to move slowly in 2020.
A great way to pass the time is by listening to a podcast or two. There are thousands of podcasts available today via computer or smartphone covering pretty much any topic you can think of, including religion.

The Bible Recap by D-Group (Disciple Group)
Think of this as audible cliff-notes for the Bible. Each episode is a quick (under 10-minute) recap of a section of the Bible. Led by host Tara-Leigh Cobble, the podcast follows a one-year chronological plan through the Bible and is aimed at building up leaders who know and love God and his Word.

Digging deeper into the Bible, this podcast is hosted by Tim Mackie and Jon Collins who founded the BibleProject to make the Bible accessible to everyone. Those who have the YouVersion Bible App may have seen their short, animated Bible videos. These podcasts are similar but dig deeper into the Biblical theology behind each video.

For those familiar with N. T. Wright’s writing, you will know that this podcast wades into some even deeper theological waters. The former Bishop of Durham in the Church of England, who was dubbed the most prolific Bible scholar in a generation by Christianity Today, fields theological questions from listeners. Topics range from Satan and the powers of evil to whether or not animals go to heaven.

Chuck Swindoll, the founder and senior pastor-teacher of Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco, Texas, brings a fount of knowledge to each of these podcasts. Since 1979, long before podcasts were even conceived, Swindoll has been broadcasting his messages to listeners across the globe.

This podcast, based on the And Sons adventure magazine for men, is hosted by Sam Eldredge and Blaine Eldredge, sons of John Eldredge (see Wild at Heart).
