Just Jump

“We expected to be lost in the crowds at such a big building,” said Aimee Nord of her first Sunday at Faith. Like so many new to Faith, Brady and Aimee Nord weren’t sure how they would fit in a large church. But during their first visit in 2013, a Welcome Center volunteer greeted them and insisted on helping them find a small group.  The following Tuesday, a GO team visited their home to learn more about the couple and share a little bit about Faith.  The Nords knew they had found their church home.

The outgoing couple was willing to jump into anything.  Aimee served in the KidzZone and hospitality ministry, even as she ministered to international students in her job at CSU.  Brady served in student ministries by leading the Middle School Class.  His co-leader, Phil Seitz, says, “He really cared about the students in the class and absolutely loved teaching and answering their questions about the Bible.  It was really neat to see how much the students looked up to him.”

This past summer, the Nords were presented with an amazing opportunity to move to the Ukraine.  On their final Sunday at Faith, they wrote a note to their church family on a comment card.

From Pastor Brad remembering our names, to Steve and Katy Baumgaertner’s kindness at the church picnic, to the Sandbergs’ encouraging card mailed to us … you guys have been an amazing blessing to us here, and we will miss you.  God bless you and the beautiful ministry here at Faith.

The truth is, “Braimee,” as their small group affectionately named them, left their mark of blessing on Faith.  We will miss their joyful willingness to jump in, to contribute, to be known, and to be bold about their faith in Jesus.  They remind us of so many of you who just jump in.  You decide to be a “part of the family,” and you give, serve, love, and laugh.  It all comes full circle eventually because when you decide to give of yourselves to others, they can give to someone else in return.
